Keep calm it is only a blog
The Trading for Good team are always looking out for small businesses doing great things in the local community. A huge amount of small businesses do a great deal of good, but rarely shout about it. Trading for Good are currently looking for small businesses to blog for us and in return, we will promote your business online and drive traffic to your website.
My name is Tim Grant and I manage the social media for Trading for Good. When I speak to people about blogging I very often get a somewhat 'terrified' response: 'I don't blog'; 'I couldn't possibly'; 'oh no'. I'd like to help break down this apparent 'fear' of blogging. A blog is simply a short piece of writing about something - that is all. Putting your name to something that is open for the whole world to see can be daunting, but the reality is that it can drive considerable traffic to your website and that can only be good for business. If it is the technical side of blogging you are worried about, don't worry, because I'm here to look after that side of things for you - all you need to do is send me an email with your short piece of writing.
To try and take any pressure away from the decision of what to write about here is a list of current topics we are looking to cover:
- Your small business supporting local charities and communities.
- Your business helping young people into work - perhaps you have taken on an apprentice?
- Your small business improving the impact on the environment - perhaps you have installed solar panels?
- Your small business working better with your suppliers - do you make sure your suppliers are paid on time?
- Your small business making life better for employees - do you have a flexible working scheme or a cycle to work incentive, for example?
So, please do reach for the 'blogger' or writer within you or your team. Email me your blogs and I will publish them.
So what's in it for you? That's simple - I will publish your stories and share them with our social media audience of over 4,000 people and guarantee you a spike in traffic to your website.
